If you are feeling unenergized or like you hit a wall on the field, waking up 2 or more times in the middle of the night, and constantly thinking about food are signs that you are not getting enough food in. Here are some @fitplatenutrition tips to get your body right!1. Choose a satisfying breakfast with protein, some starch, and color like oatmeal with peanut butter, fruit, and milk. 2. Have easy grab and go snacks (that has a protein) with you at home and on-the-go to fuel body between meals or when hunger strikes. Half sandwich, cheese stick with apples, banana and nut butter, yogurt with fruit, pretzels and baby bell cheese, Lara bar, Perfect Bar, RX Bar, Go Macro Bar etc. etc.3. Fuel body with lunch and remember, lunch can be made up of multiple snacks above. A balanced meal of protein, starch and color can be: Turkey & cheese sandwich, pretzels, carrots, an apple. Still hungry or need something sweet, add in a cookie 🙂4. Eat within 60-90 minutes of training, refueling body with carbohydrates and rebuilding with protein so you are recovered optimally for the next training session or game. 1/2 plate of whole wheat pasta, ground turkey meat sauce and broccoli is a great option. We want to break the plate into thirds of starchy carbs, protein & color.5. Hungry later in the evening? Your body is telling you it needs fuel. Enjoy some popcorn with chocolate chips, yogurt and granola, glass of milk with peanut butter toast, energy balls or a chocolate tart cherry smoothie.
