START OF SEASON RUNDOWN- ECLIPSE SELECT ALUMNI

 

Last week, several Eclipse alumni made notable performances during some of their first games of the 2023-24 collegiate season. Major storylines included junior Megan Hutchinson (New Lenox, IL) and freshman Mya Gardner (Batavia, IL) both tallying their first collegiate points! Hutchinson notched both a goal and assist in Purdue’s 8-0 win over Iona, and Gardner’s goal early in the second half against Samford gave Depaul the push needed to collect their first victory of the season, ending in a score of 2-1.

 


GOALSCORERS

Goals, goals, and more goals! To make Senior Night even more special, Zivana Labovic (Schererville, IN) contributed a beautiful header goal to the Spartan’s 3-1 win over Bowling Green. Allison Rapaduski (Algonquin, IL) y Sarah McCracken (Naperville, IL) both found their firsts of the season for the Fighting Hawks in their match against Boise State. Junior defender Emma Phillips (Munster, IN) tallied a header goal early in the first half, pushing Northwestern to a 4-0 win over Marquette. Forward Ella Richards (Chicago, IL) found the back of the net for Boston College in the 73rd minute in their match against Long Beach State. Karli Ferguson (Chicago, IL) notched one for Flyers in their 4-1 season opener against Loyola Maryland 74th minute, and Scout Murray (Chicago, IL) found her first of the season in Ohio’s 3-0 win over Duquesne.

 


PLAYMAKERS

These freshmen forwards are wasting no time making their impact! Forwards Paige Millstone (Palatine, IL), Katie O’Malley (Western Springs, IL), and Mimi Van Zanten (Buffalo Grove, IL) all tallied their first collegiate assists in their team’s home openers. Senior Kiki Van Zanten (Buffalo Grove, IL) also found her first assist of the year in Notre Dame’s opening match against Milwaukee.


NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

Junior keeper Ashton Kudlo (Schererville, IN) came up with a total of 5 saves between the Jaguars first two victories of the season against both Southern Indiana and Southern Illinois, kicking the season off strong with a clean sheet!

 

Over 100 Eclipse Select Soccer Club alumni, both male and female, are rostered across every level of college soccer at Division I, II, III, and NAIA. There are 34 alumni designated as freshmen entering their first year of college. The remaining includes 31 sophomores, 36 juniors, 19 seniors, and one graduate student with an additional year of eligibility.
