WEEK 11 2022 RUNDOWN- Eclipse Select Alumni

With the regular season nearing completion, our alumni made great contributions to their teams this week to continue their runs into league playoffs. One major storyline includes senior Erin Oleksak (SR/Palatine, IL.) who scored two goals in the Knights 6-1 win against Taylor University, and had 3 assists in their 4-0 victory over Indiana Wesleyan, clinching the Crossroads League Championship title for Marian. 

 

GOALSCORERS

Korbin Albert (SO/Grayslake, IL.) got her second consecutive brace with the Irish against Duke, scoring twice in the second half to tie the Blue Devils 2-2. Katie Knutte (SR/Lemont, IL.) scored a goal in the Tiger’s 10-0 victory over Calumet. Jack Finnegan (JR/Hometown, IL.) scored his fourth goal of the season in the Badgers 3-2 victory over Ohio State. Nicole Doucette (JR/Lake Bluff, IL.) scored her first goal of the season for the Cats in a 2-1 win over Rutgers, pushing NU to the Big Ten Semifinals. Madeline Schlecht (JR/Naperville, IL.) earned her fifth goal of the season for Miami in their 2-2 draw against Eastern Michigan. Laura Butler (SO/Chicago, IL.) found her sixth goal of the season against CSU Pueblo in their 5-0 victory, pushing the Mines to the RMAC Semifinals. Kiki Van Zanten (SR/Buffalo Grove, IL.) came out of the weekend with a goal in their penalty shootout victory against Pitt, and an assist in their 2-2 tie versus Duke, pushing Notre Dame to the ACC Semifinals. 

 

PLAYMAKERS

Xcaret Pineda (FR/Bolingbrook, IL.) tallied two assists over the weekend in the Cowgirls games against Baylor and West Virginia. Morgan Fagan (SO/Glencoe, IL.) contributed two more assists for the Terriers in their 3-0 win against Loyola Maryland, advancing to the Patriot League Semifinals. Zivana Labovic (JR/Schererville, IN.) found her fourth assist of the season in a big 2-1 victory over Minnesota, pushing the Spartans to advance to the Big Ten Semifinals. Ainsley Ahmadian (SO/Naperville, IL.) had an assist late in the second half which pushed the Crimson to a 2-1 win against Dartmouth. Preston Huitron (FR/Aurora, IL.) got his second assist of the season for the Flames in their 2-0 win against Evansville. Gandhi Cruz (SO/Aurora, IL.) battled through a tough match against Creighton, coming up with 7 big saves for the Blue Demons. Ashton Kudlo (SO/Schererville, IL.) tallied another shutout and 8 saves in the Jaguars 3-0 victory over Oakland. 

 

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES 

Tatumn Milazzo was named to the 2022 NWSL Best XI Second Team after playing an integral role for the Red Stars defense this season, leading the team in clearances and interceptions while also tallying 2 goals and 1 assist. Emma Phillips (SO/Munster, IN.) was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team, scoring 3 goals and 2 assists during the regular season. Gabbie Cesarone (SR/St. Charles, IL.) was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team after scoring 6 goals and 4 game winners during the regular season.

 

Over 95 Eclipse Select Soccer Club alumni, both male and female, are rostered across every level of college soccer at Division I, II, III, and NAIA. There are 28 alumni designated as freshmen entering their first year of college. The remaining includes 34 sophomores, 20 juniors, 8 seniors, and three graduate students with an additional year of eligibility.
