WEEK 1 2022 RUNDOWN- ECLIPSE SELECT ALUMNI

This past weekend, several Eclipse alumni made notable performances during their first games of the 2022-23 collegiate season. Major storylines included junior Reegan Kingpavong (Rockford, IL.) scoring her first goal of the season in the first 108 seconds of the match for the Huskies, and sophomore Emma Phillips (Munster, IN.) tallying a game-winning bicycle kick goal inside the 18’ for Northwestern to top Kansas State 2-1. 

 

GOALSCORERS

Madeline Schlecht (Naperville, IL.) volleyed in her first goal of the season from a corner kick in the 51st minute of the game, resulting in 1-0 victory for Miami University over Loyola. Isa Cook (Elmhurst, IL.) found the back of the net for Marquette on a penalty shot in the 57th minute, resulting in a 2-1 win over Central Michigan. Erin Oleksak (Palatine, IL.) led the Marian Knights with six shots, netting her first goal of the year during the 63rd minute, beating St. Ambrose 4-2.

STARTING DEBUT

A major featured player from week one was Gabbie Cesarone (St. Charles, IL.) breaking into the starting lineup right off the bat, she played in all 180 minutes of the University of Minnesota’s first two matches.

Over 95 Eclipse Select Soccer Club alumni, both male and female, are rostered across every level of college soccer at Division I, II, III, and NAIA. There are 28 alumni designated as freshmen entering their first year of college. The remaining includes 34 sophomores, 20 juniors, 8 seniors, and three graduate students with an additional year of eligibility.
