WEEK 3 2021 RUNDOWN – ECLIPSE SELECT ALUMNI
OAK BROOK, Ill. (September 7, 2021) – Labor Day weekend saw several Eclipse Select alumni make notable performances across the college soccer landscape during Week Three of the 2021-22 season. With Division I programs having already played two weeks of their season so far, the past weekend kicked off the fall campaigns for many Division II, III, and NAIA teams. The most notable achievement of the week included Marian University’s Erin Oleksak (Palatine, Ill./JR) breaking the school records in points tallied (120) and goals scored (47) after recording three goals and three assists in three games last week. Oleksak still has the rest of this season and next season with eligibility to pile on more.
Boston College’s Ella Richards (Chicago, Ill./FR) is now tied for the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) lead in points per game (2.33), goals scored (6), and goals per game (1.00) after tallying her second brace of the season against Kennesaw State. The Cougars’ Ben Suddeth (West Chicago, Ill./FR), after four games competed, played every minute and is tied for the team lead with 403 minutes in their first full season of Division I soccer. After a 1-0 victory against Green Bay and a 0-0 draw with Bellarmine, Chicago State sits at 2-1-1 on the year. The Maze and Blue’s Nicki Hernandez (Naperville, Ill./RS-SR) recorded her ninth and 10th point on the season with the game-winning goal as Michigan downed DePaul 1-0. Gabby Schwartz (Chicago, Ill./SR) of Wisconsin-Milwaukee recorded her seventh assist on the season versus Illinois State. Schwartz tallied an assist in four straight games and holds a 1.4 assist per game average this season. Channing Foster (Murray, Ky./FR) recorded her fourth goal of the campaign for Ole Miss in a 1-1 draw with Samford. Louisville’s Nina Nicosia (Elmwood Park, Ill./FR) assisted the game-winning goal over Saint Louis to bring her point total on the season to six.
The Blue Demon’s goalkeeper Gandhi Cruz (Aurora, Ill./FR) earned his first career shutout in a 1-0 victory over Wisconsin while registering six saves. Harvard’s Hannah Bebar (Naperville, Ill./FR) scored her first career game-winning goal in a 3-2 thriller over St. John’s. Dimitri Huitron (Oswego, Ill./FR) scored in his first-ever collegiate game as Lewis University defeated Purdue Northwest 3-2. Lewis women’s Cali Havelka-Vanderplow (Hinsdale, Ill./GS) scored and assisted in their season-opening win over Purdue Northwest.
FIRSTS OF MANY
Nathaniel Enriquez (Carol Stream, Ill./FR) y Julian Saldana (Dundee Crown, Ill./FR) both were given the nod for their first career starts for DePaul at Wisconsin. Lauren Boafo (Hanover Park, Ill./FR) from Western Michigan started in goal for the first time in her career and recorded nine saves against Southern California. Reegan Kingpavong (Rockford, Ill./FR) of Saginaw Valley State scored her first career goal in a 3-1 win over Truman. Harvard’s Ainsley Ahmadian (Naperville, Ill./FR), N.C. State’s Fernanda Soto(Romeoville, Ill./FR), Purdue Northwest’s Arnas Miskinis (Orland Park, Ill./SO), and Missouri-St. Louis’ Mia Millazo (Orland Park, Ill./SR) registered the first assists of their careers. Fort Hays’ Amanda Rapaduski (Algonquin, Ill./JR), Lewis’ Maddie Levins (Elmhurst, Ill./SR), Penn State’s Kerry Abello (Batavia, Ill./SR), San Diego’s Jamie Goralski (Naperville, Ill./RS-JR), and Mizzou’s Skylar Kingsley (Naperville, Ill./SR) each scored their first goal of the 2021-22 season.
Goalscorers from last week’s contests would include Zivana Labovic (Schereville, Ind./SO) converting from the penalty spot for Michigan State. Charlotte’s Piper Biziorek (Naperville, Ill./SO) scored her third goal of the season against South Carolina. Korbin Albert (Grayslake, Ill./FR) of Notre Dame netted her second goal of the season versus Mizzou.
