WEEK 7 2023 RUNDOWN – Eclipse Select Alumni
It was yet another action-packed week for our alumni across the collegiate and professional landscape. Major storylines include Kiki Van Zanten (Buffalo Grove, IL.) being named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week after contributing a brace and an assist in the Irish’s 3-0 victory over Louisville, as well as Chicago Red Stars’ defender Tatumn Milazzo (Orland Park, IL.) and her celebration of 50 NWSL appearances!

GOALSCORERS
After a long road to recovery following an ACL tear, junior Reegan Kingpavong (Rockford, IL.) came out strong – notching a lone goal in the 77th minute to push the Huskies past Akron 1-0. Junior defender Emma Phillips (Munster, IN.) notched her first brace of the season in Northwestern’s match vs. Nebraska, bumping her scoring record to five after goals in the 70th & 83rd minute to combat a strong Nebraska offense. Zivana Labovic (Schererville, IN.) added another to her stat sheet with a corner kick header goal in the 19th minute of play to extend the Spartans lead, ending in a 5-0 victory over Maryland and marking her third of the season. Hannah Bebar (Naperville, IL.) came off the weekend with three more points after contributing both a goal and assist early in the first half of play to help Harvard to a 2-0 road victory over Columbia. Junior Laura Butler (Chicago, IL.) found her first goal of the season in the 83rd minute to put the game away for the Mines – notching another home victory over Regis with a score of 3-1. Abby Kalou (Buffalo Grove, IL.) has now extended her scoring streak to three consecutive games after notching a goal in both of Lesley’s matches against Brandeis (1-5) and Maine Maritime (1-0), bumping her scoring record of the season to six. Kiara Pralle (Bourbonnais, IL.) added both a goal and assist to the mix in Lipscomb’s 4-0 victory over North Alabama on Saturday – marking her fifth goal and third assist of the season thus far. Sophomore Alexis Sassower’s (Chicago, IL.) first collegiate goal as a Spartan in the 85th minute of play doubled as the game-winner in Case Western’s 1-0 win at NYU. Xcaret Pineda (Bolingbrook, IL.) notched her sixth goal of the year off a rocket of a shot in the 60th minute to regain the Cowgirls lead over UCF, knocking off the #19 ranked Knights with a final score of 2-1. Scoring her third on the season so far and beginning a two-game streak, a goal from Ella Koleno (Chicago, IL.) in the 4th minute of the Bears’ home game vs. Emory set the tone early – resulting in a 2-0 victory for WashU.

PLAYMAKERS
A service from midfield into the top of the box from freshman defender Eva Pattison (Chicago, IL.) in the 34th minute marked her first collegiate assist in the Hawkeyes 4-0 win over Purdue on Saturday. Junior Maddie Schlecht (Naperville, IL.) tallied her first assist of the season for the Redhawks in the 60th minute of play to top Kent State 1-0. Maya Rebic (Elmhurst, IL.) found her first of the season in the 39th minute to increase the Warhawks’ lead over Wheaton before the half – ending in a 3-2 road victory. Junior Bela Labovic (Schererville, IN.) also logged her first assist of the year late in the first half of the Argo’s match vs. Shorter, ending in a 5-0 win at home. Defender Payton Green (Fox Lake, IL.) added a point to her stat card this weekend after contributing an assist in the 43rd minute to jumpstart Milwaukee’s offense – resulting in a 3-1 victory vs. Northern Kentucky. An assist from Scout Murray (Chicago, IL.) in the 23rd minute of the Bobcats’ game vs. NIU kept the offensive momentum alive in the first half to bring home a 3-1 road win for Ohio. Sophomore defender for Aurora, Grace Grundhofer (New Lenox, IL.) found her first assist of the year in the 34th minute of their match against Rockford – ending in a 4-0 win for the Spartans. Freshman Katie O’Malley (Western Springs, IL.) earned her third assist of the year in the 27th minute of the Redbird’s 1-0 win over Southern Illinois on Sunday.

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
With five goals and one assist so far this year, freshman Bella Najera (St. Charles, IL.) was awarded the honor of Big Ten Freshman of the Week this past Tuesday. Way to go Bella!
Over 100 Eclipse Select Soccer Club alumni, both male and female, are rostered across every level of college soccer at Division I, II, III, and NAIA. There are 34 alumni designated as freshmen entering their first year of college. The remaining includes 31 sophomores, 36 juniors, 19 seniors, and one graduate student with an additional year of eligibility.
