WEEK 3 2023 RUNDOWN- ECLIPSE SELECT ALUMNI

Labor Day weekend saw many Eclipse Select alumni make notable performances across the college soccer landscape during Week Three of the 2023-24 season. Special storylines include Arianna Lombardi (Bourbonnais, IL.) and her standout debut for the Pioneers – scoring a hat trick in their victory over Concordia Chicago. As well as Kiara Pralle (Bourbonnais, IL.) who has now pushed her scoring streak to 4 straight games, finding one in each of Lipscombs’ games this past week against Middle Tennessee (4-2) and Evansville (3-0).


GOALSCORERS

Xcaret Pineda (Bolingbrook, IL.) is on a roll! Contributing both a goal & assist in the Cowgirls’ game versus Texas State (3-0) and notching another in their 5-2 win over Central Arkansas – pushing her scoring streak to three consecutive matches. Junior Midfielder Yulexi Diaz (Chicago, IL.) found her first from a header in the Flames’ 3-0 victory over Marquette Thursday. Karli Ferguson (Chicago, IL.) notched her second goal of the season in the Flyers’ 5-2 win at Akron. Ella Koleno (Chicago, IL.) found both her first goal and assist of the season in WashU’s Labor Day win over Piedmont (8-0). Freshman Katie O’Malley (Western Springs, IL.) logged her first collegiate goal in the Redbirds 2-2 tie versus Oakland. And last but certainly not least, freshman forward Bella Najera (St. Charles, IL.) scored her first for the Spartans in their 6-0 victory over Eastern Michigan.


PLAYMAKERS

Junior Abby Kalou (Buffalo Grove, IL.) is kicking off the season strong with a total of 3 assists over the weekend across the Bobcats’ wins against Wentworth (2-0) and Simmons (5-0). Kate Flynn (Woodridge, IL.) found her first assist of the season 7 minutes into the WashU Bear’s 8-0 victory over Piedmont yesterday afternoon. Ella Richards (Chicago, IL.) logged her first assist of the season early in the second half of Boston College’s 2-0 win over Akron. Julia Simon (Wheaton, IL.) found the assist to tie it up early in the game, ultimately ending in a 5-1 victory for the Billikens over SIUE. Alexis Sassower (Chicago, IL.) found her first career assist as a Spartan in CWRU’s 1-0 victory over Ohio Northern. Freshman Mya Gardner (Batavia, IL.) tallied her first collegiate assist in the Blue Devils’ 2-1 win over Eastern Kentucky.


NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

Junior keeper Gandhi Cruz (Aurora, IL.) racked up some impressive stats this past week, facing 60 shots and coming up with a total of 18 saves across the Blue Devil’s last 3 games against Indiana, Bradley, and Northwestern. Ashton Kudlo (Schererville, IN.) made a new season high record, facing a total of 22 shots and coming out with 8 saves in the Jaguars’ matches against Butler & Tennessee Tech.

Over 100 Eclipse Select Soccer Club alumni, both male and female, are rostered across every level of college soccer at Division I, II, III, and NAIA. There are 34 alumni designated as freshmen entering their first year of college. The remaining includes 31 sophomores, 36 juniors, 19 seniors, and one graduate student with an additional year of eligibility.
