WEEK 2 2022 RUNDOWN- ECLIPSE SELECT ALUMNI

Eclipse Select Alumni kept the momentum from week one, and had strong performances yet again for week two of the collegiate season. A major storyline included University of Wisconsin junior Jack Finnegan (JR/Hometown, IL.) coming up big for the Badgers with a total of 3 goals and 1 assist, aiding in their victories over both Utah Tech and Tulsa.

 

 

SUSTAINING SUCCESS

University of Notre Dame’s Korbin Albert (SO/Grayslake, IL.) drilled in a free-kick goal outside of the 18’ in the 56th minute to give the Irish the lead, resulting in a 2-0 win over St. Louis. Zivana Labovic (JR/Schererville, IN.) tallied 2 assists against Central Michigan, driving the Spartans to a 7-0 victory. Hannah Bebar (SO/Naperville, IL.) had a spectacular assist against Central Connecticut State, aiding in Harvard’s 3-0 win.

 

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

The Blue Demon’s goalkeeper Gandhi Cruz (SO/Aurora,IL.) had a two game shutout streak, coming up with a total of 7 crucial saves against both Bowling Green and Bucknell. Freshman Sarah McCracken (FR/Naperville,IL.) is starting off her freshman season strong, earning time on the pitch for University of North Dakota for a total of 146 minutes on the weekend and tallying 4 shots. 

Over 95 Eclipse Select Soccer Club alumni, both male and female, are rostered across every level of college soccer at Division I, II, III, and NAIA. There are 28 alumni designated as freshmen entering their first year of college. The remaining includes 34 sophomores, 20 juniors, 8 seniors, and three graduate students with an additional year of eligibility.
