WEEK 2 2021 RUNDOWN – ECLIPSE SELECT ALUMNI

OAK BROOK, Ill. (Aug.31, 2021) – Eclipse Select alumni continued the momentum from a strong week one of the 2021 fall campaign with an even more impressive week two. A major storyline included Boston College freshman Ella Richards (FR/Chicago, Ill.) scoring twice and assisting once in a 4-1 win over UConn. It was her third and fourth goal of the year and is now second on the team in goals and tied for first in assists with two.

BRACE YOURSELF
Outside of Richards, three other alumnae scored twice in a match last week. Natalie Vaughn-Low (SR/DeKalb, Ill.) found the back of the net twice in a 4-0 Illinois State win over Eastern Michigan. She also recorded an assist in a match versus Western Illinois. Channing Foster (SR/Murray, Ky.) tallied two goals for Ole Miss in a contest against Middle Tennessee. Foster scored a late game-winner in the 75th minute in a 1-0 victory over Arkansas State. Charlotte’s Piper Biziorek (SO/Naperville, Ill.) recorded her brace which included the game-winner in a match that ended 3-0 against Gardner Webb.

FIRSTS OF MANY
Impact freshman continued to make noise amongst the older ranks of the collegiate soccer landscape. Korbin Albert (FR/Grayslake, Ill.) scored her first career goal for the Irish in the 8th minute versus Wisconsin. Her goal proved vital as Notre Dame defeated the Badgers 2-1 in overtime. Chicago State’s Ben Suddeth (FR/West Chicago, Ill.) made his first start and has played all 194 minutes in two games including a 2-1 win over Northwestern. Allison Rapaduski (SO/Algonquin, Ill.) of North Dakota tallied her first career goal against Southern University. Both Nathaniel Enriquez (FR/Carol Stream, Ill.) and Julian Saldana (FR/Dundee Crown, Ill.) appeared for the Blue Demons for the first time in their career. Enriquez tallied his first assist in the same game against Loyola-Chicago. Drake’s Corey Pitlik (FR/Frankfort, Ill.) got the nod for his first career start in a win over Western Illinois. Freshman Julia Simon (FR/Wheaton, Ill.) of Louisville dished out her first career assist against Northern Kentucky and now has five points in her first three games of her young career.

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
Many other alumni had tremendous performances across the country. Gabby Swartz (SR/Chicago, Ill.) dished out a hat-trick of assists in an 8-0 win over Eastern Kentucky. Swartz now has five assists on the season for Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Amanda Kowalski (SR/Arlington Heights, Ill.) tallied her first assist of the season for Butler in a 3-1 win over Illinois. San Diego’s Jamie Goralski (JR/Naperville, Ill.) assisted the game-winning goal over Seattle 1-0. Goalkeeper Olivia Jenkins (SR/Plainfield, Ill.) recorded a 1-0 shutout victory over cross-town rivals Cincinnati. Jenkins made three saves in the match.

Over 100 Eclipse Select Soccer Club alumni, both male and female, are rostered across every level of college soccer at Division I, II, III, and NAIA. There are 46 alumni designated as freshmen entering their first year of college. The remaining includes 23 sophomores, 17 juniors, 17 seniors, and six graduate students with an additional year of eligibility due to the altered 2020-21 season.
