13th Annual Eclipse Select College Showcase Draws Over 100 Coaches
OAK BROOK, ILL. (October 31, 2019) – The Eclipse Select Soccer Club hosted it’s 13th Annual Eclipse Select College Showcase earlier this month on Monday, Oct. 14th. The event is annually held on Indigenous Peoples Day and drew 104 college coaches and 145 players to Techny Park in Northbrook, Ill.
The Eclipse Select College Showcase included training sessions and small-sided games in the morning with full-sided games in the afternoon and into the evening. All 145 attending players had optimal time to impress attending scouts from schools which included Division I, II, III, and NAIA (full list of attending schools below)
“This is always a great time for our players to showcase their skills and abilities,” said North Director John Soltani. It is a unique opportunity for players to get to play in front of a wide variety of coaches who can see them train, play, and compete.”
At a typical tournament showcase, players may only get 90 minutes infront of a coach a day. Many of whom leave to go to other fields after 45 minutes or even less. That time being recruited goes down even further when you talk about the substitutes on the bench. The Eclipse College Showcase aims to increase that time playing in front of coaches as well as putting players in their comfort zone playing at their home field and practice facility.
The Eclipse Select Soccer Club prides itself on its ability to provide every opportunity for players within the club to achieve their goals and ambitions. The club annually assists players aiming to play college soccer to navigate the recruiting process and everything that comes with it. Eclipse has had hundreds of alumni commit, sign, and have great success at the next level and beyond.
