MCCOY HEADLINES THE 2018 UNITED SOCCER COACHES AWARDS

OAK BROOK, ILL. (Dec. 6, 2018) – Current youth and collegiate alumni of the Eclipse Select Soccer Club have been named among the 2018 United Soccer Coaches’ annual awards. Eight different current and former players of the club were announced as they received individual awards for their overall performance this calendar year. These awards included All-Region Teams, All-America Teams, and Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Semifinalist.

ALL-REGION – Division I
FIRST TEAM NORTH – Kayla Sharples (Naperville, Ill.) – Northwestern, Sr.
FIRST TEAM ATLANTIC – Kayla McCoy (Lincolnwood, Ill.) – Duke, Sr.
FIRST TEAM SOUTHEAST– Maya Neal (Naperville, Ill.) – Tennessee, Sr.
SECOND TEAM NORTH – Nicki Hernandez (Naperville, Ill.) – Michigan, So.
THIRD TEAM NORTH – Kerry Abello (Batavia, Ill.) – Penn. State, So.
THIRD TEAM SOUTHEAST – Tatumn Milazzo (Orland Park, Ill.) – South Carolina, So.

MAC HERMANN TROPHY
SEMIFINALIST – Kayla McCoy (Lincolnwood, Ill.) – Duke, Sr.

McCoy started on the MAC Hermann Watchlist back in August which included 43 other players. That list has now been narrowed to the top 15 collegiate women soccer players in the country. The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer and is based on voting from NCAA Division I soccer coaches. Some of the biggest names in American soccer history have won the award prior to going on to international stardom – including Mia Hamm and Kristine Lilly. Voting will come to its conclusion and the winner will be announced on Dec. 7.
