Oswego resident, East Aurora and NIU alum has coached Chicagoland youth soccer for past decade

CHICAGO (May 3, 2017) – Eclipse Select Soccer Club welcomes Cleo Huitron to the club, as the Oswego resident will serve as Eclipse Select Naperville Director.

“I am excited to work with Eclipse and thankful for the opportunity to be among the well-rounded coaches that the program has,” Huitron said. “It is truly something new that has a lot of potential to raise the level of soccer for the kids, so I am honored to be involved.”

Huitron has an extensive coaching background over the past decade for Chicagoland-area clubs such as the Chicago Inferno, Chicago Rush and Oswego Panthers, among others, and has also coached 3v3 and futsal-specific teams in his spare time to further young players’ development. The latter focus certainly rings true to the fundamental and possession-focused style of play that Eclipse Select’s brand is known for and preaches.

“I have a philosophy that challenges the players to think, make quick decisions and move without the ball,” Huitron said. “Playing an attacking style involves everyone on the field, and I try to identify the elements involved to help the kids reach their full potential.”

Huitron has played the game for more than 25 years. Huitron formerly played for East Aurora High School’s program where he was a three-year captain and earned all-state honors as a four-year varsity letter winner. He went on to play collegiately for two seasons at Northern Illinois University, where he earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2005.

He also has competed for a number of years in amateur leagues around the region, many of which take place at The Odeum in west suburban Villa Park.

“I’m dedicated to the process and have spent time training and teaching the game for players who have the desire to become better,” Huitron said. “I want to make the program successful, and once we have established our style of play and culture within the boys’ program, the accomplishments will come.”

Huitron holds a U.S. Soccer Federation National “E” Coaching License. He resides in Oswego with his wife Rose and three boys Dimitri, Divinci and Ditric.
