ECNL sides go 1-1-2 in final matches to cap off 2016 slate of season

CHICAGO (Dec. 17, 2016) – Eclipse Select Soccer Club played four Elite Clubs National League matches against St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri last weekend, battling to a 1-1-2 record against host SLSG. The weekend action marked the end of the 2016 schedule.
The lone victory came from Eclipse Elite ECNL 2003 (U-14), which earned a 3-1 win. Eclipse controlled the match, building a two-goal lead thanks to tallies from Devin Lynch and Dakota Lyons. SLSG pulled within one, but Eclipse responded well when Emma Phillips converted from a corner kick to see the game out for the win.
Eclipse Elite ECNL 2001 (U-16) had the comeback of the weekend, trailing by two goals at the half to rally for a 2-2 draw. Isabella Cook started the comeback midway through the half, and then a last-minute free kick by Isabela Labovic was redirected by a SLSG player into her own net to tie the score. The rally also was a credit to the hard work from the likes of Ellie Grier and Kalyssa “Kiki” Van Zanten.
The Eclipse Elite ECNL 2000 (U-17) side also had a noteworthy 1-1 draw against a SLSG team that has posted an unbeaten season. Eclipse gained the upper hand, thanks to a flick-in goal by Adrianna Naumoski off of a long throw-in by Mia Milazzo. Defensively, Eclipse also endured a strong onslaught from SLSG, with Katie Koker and Gabrielle Cesarone among the back line’s efforts. SLSG found an equalizer before halftime and the score stayed that way throughout.
Eclipse Elite ECNL 1999/98 (U-18/19) dropped a 3-1 decision. Ainsley Ahmadian scored off of a dangerous cross by Hailey Blanchard, but the host side responded with three unanswered.
